J.S. Wood Branch

On the corner of Taylor Street & Lansdowne Avenue in W.W. Ashley Park

Built in 1961, J.S Wood Branch was the first post-depression, post-World War II public library building to be constructed in Saskatchewan. Named after a former chief librarian, it was also the first large suburban branch built in Saskatoon. 

The J.S. Wood Branch is only partly wheelchair accessible. The lower level, including the Story Room and washrooms, is only accessible by stairs.

Located on the corner of Lansdowne Avenue and Taylor Street, J.S. Wood has long been a valued part of the neighbourhood. 

Serving many schools in the area, from Growing Spirits Preschool to nearby Aden Bowman Collegiate, readers of all ages have been welcome at J.S.Wood library for over 50 years. The well-lit front reading room is a great place to enjoy a late afternoon book. J.S. Wood is well-stocked with the latest releases, and the staff are certain to help you find anything you are looking for. 

The J.S. Wood Branch is only partly wheelchair accessible. The lower level, including the Story Room and washrooms, is only accessible by stairs. Parking is provided beside the building.You can reach the J.S. Wood Branch using public transit:
Route 1 (Exhibition)
Route 6 (Broadway)
and Route 17.

Computers & Wireless Internet

Use one of our one-hour, bookable computer stations to access the Internet. Documents cannot be save to the desktop computers. Book a computer up to three days in advance to secure your time. Printing fees may apply

Bring your own laptop or mobile device to use our free wireless Internet service throughout the branch. 

Kids can try out one of our dedicated children's educational computers. 

Alice Turner branch currently has black and white photocopying and printing available from our public computers. Scanning to a USB drive is available from the photocopier. We unfortunately do not offer faxing at this location.
