Timeline for applying to the Writer in Residence Program

Time Line

Because of the Canada Council for the Arts grant deadlines, our selection process operates a year in advance.  That means that the next posting will be for the 2017/2018 year.

Early June:  One posting is released for the term a year in advance.  This posting is sent along to various list serves around the country and on the Library website.

Early November:  Deadline for applications.

Mid November:  Application kits go out to WIR selection committee

First Week of December:  Committee meets to review and select candidate (9 months before the position begins).  Successful candidate is notified at this time, pending Canada Council for the Arts funding.

March 1st.   Library submits a grant application for funding from the Canada Council for the Arts.   Library hears back in 3 months.  A public announcement is made once the funding is secured.
