SPL Easing Restrictions

Facemasks requirements and capacity limits will be removed on Monday, Jul 12 at all Saskatoon Public Library (SPL) locations, in line with the widespread easing of COVID-related restrictions across the province. Although the facemask restriction will be lifted, wearing facemasks is still encouraged and masks will continue to be worn by employees.

There will also be no more time limits on library visits, the number of public computers will be restored to pre-COVID numbers, and food/drink will be allowed in libraries again.

Some restrictions will remain in place at SPL, including drop-in Local History services, room bookings and the suspension of indoor, in-person programming. SPL expects to lift all restrictions and move to the final stage of its Path to Reopening plan on Sep 7, though that date is subject to change based on government protocols and the state of COVID-19 in Saskatoon.
