Temporary Library Closure Due to COVID-19
With information around COVID-19 rapidly evolving, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all library locations as of Monday, March 16.
While the risk of transmission remains low in our community, the Saskatchewan Health Authority recommends social distancing and limiting gatherings at this time. As such, we have determined that closing public libraries is currently in the best interest of the community’s health and safety. The closure is tentatively scheduled to last for two weeks, though that timeline is subject to change depending on how the situation develops. Alongside the city and province, we will be reassessing on a daily basis and providing updates on SPL’s operations on our website and social media channels.
Book drops at all locations are closed as well. Please hold on to all your library materials during this time. We would like to remind patrons that SPL is waiving all late fees accumulated beginning March 13. You will still be able to use SPL’s many online resources during this time, which are accessible on our website: www.saskatoonlibrary.ca/digital-library.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
