Children's Innovation Lab

Thanks to a $10,000 donation from Friends of the Library, SPL has opened an Innovation Lab in the Children’s area (second floor) at Frances Morrison Central Library. We're excited to have patrons start using this self-directed space, which aligns with one of the pillars of SPL’s Strategic Plan: Inspiring Learning, Discovery and Creation.

Beginning May 25, the space can be used by patrons on a self-directed, drop-in basis while the library is open. Most of the equipment in this room will be low-tech and easy for patrons to use on a self-directed basis for crafts and other projects. Examples of items that will be included in this room are as follows:

- Markers, pencil crayons, etc.
- Glue
- Yarn/string
- Tape
- Scissors
- Wire
- Button Maker
- Graph paper
- Cable ties, bulldog clips, etc

Questions about finding supplies, using the button maker or craft ideas? Just ask -- we're always happy to help!
