All libraries are open with limited services. Learn more about the re-open plan by visiting Our Path to Reopening.

Support lifelong learning for all with your donation of $40 or more between Apr 7 and May 30, and we’ll put a bookplate with your name or the name of someone you care about in one of our books.

It’s our way of thanking you for being a part of our new central library story!

Here’s how it works

For every donation of $40 or more between Apr 7 and May 30, we’ll place a bookplate in your name, or in honour of someone you choose, in one of our books.

You can select which book genre you would like your bookplate to go in:

  • Picture Book
    – generally intended for ages 3 to 8, with plenty of pictures and illustrations, books like The Lorax , Corduroy and The Giving Tree.
  • Juvenile Fiction
    – generally intended for children ages 5 to 12 (elementary school ages), books like Harry Potter, Little House on the Prairie, The Chronicles of Narnia.
  • Young Adult Fiction
    – generally intended for readers ages 12 to 18 years, books like The Fault in Our Stars, The Outsiders, and The Hunger Games.
  • Adult Fiction
  • Biography
  • Cook Book
  • Large Print

There are 200 bookplates available. One bookplate will be placed per donation. If you would like more than one bookplate, please make a separate gift.

For donations in honour of someone you care about – please enter their name in the donation form under Dedication Information. You can send an e-card to notify them or their family about your donation by selecting Send a free eCard from the dropdown box next to the name field.

Don’t forget to select your book genre from the dropdown at the bottom of the donation form.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate requests for specific titles and tracking of titles with bookplates will not be available. Under certain circumstances, it may be deemed necessary to remove titles that contain bookplates from SPL’s collection. Proceeds from bookplates will support the new central library.
