Because of the Canada Council for the Arts grant deadlines, our selection process operates a year in advance.

Early June:  One posting is released for the term a year in advance.  This posting is sent along to various list serves around the country and on the Library website.

Early November: Deadline for applications.

Mid-November: Application kits go out to WIR selection committee

First Week of December: Committee meets to review and select candidate (9 months before the position begins). The successful candidate is notified at this time, pending Canada Council for the Arts funding.

March 1: Library submits a grant application for funding from the Canada Council for the Arts. Library hears back in three months. A public announcement is made once the funding is secured.
