Effective Tue, Sep 7, face masks will be required at all locations. All locations are open for limited in-person services following the Reopen Plan.

The Public Salon is a new program being facilitated by Danny Ramadan, the Writer in Residence at the Saskatoon Public Library. At various points throughout his term, Danny will invite three up-and-coming local authors, writers, poets or spoken-word artists to share their art with the library’s community.

If selected, you should be prepared to read for 10 to 15 minutes. When it’s time to record the Public Salon, you will be asked to send a video of you reading from your most comfortable space. Those featured on the Public Salon will receive a $100 honorarium. Priority will be given to marginalized artists living in Saskatoon who identify within the LGBTQ2S+ community, POC (person of colour) community, and/or Indigenous communities.

The video, combining the three readings plus a reading from Danny Ramadan, will appear on Facebook and YouTube.
