All libraries are open with limited services. Learn more about the re-open plan by visiting Our Path to Reopening.

Visit any library location and take up to five free seed packets to plant in your garden. Save seeds from your own garden to donate, and exchange them for more seeds to take home.

Seeds commonly available include lettuce, beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, carrots and beets.

How to donate seeds

Visit any library’s checkout desk to donate seeds. Please make sure your seeds are labelled with the type of seed and placed in a sealed envelope, bag or container.

Food and flower seeds are accepted as donations. The seeds you donate do not have to come from the seeds you take. All seed packets are quarantined before they are handled.
