If you borrow from the library for your classroom or homeschool, you may want to get an Educational Library Card. This service is for educators who want to pick and request their own items. The card limit is 100 items and those are subject to regular borrowing periods and renewals.
Eligibility:
- Elementary, secondary or postsecondary teachers who either live or work in Saskatoon.
- Homeschooling parents or caregivers who live in Saskatoon.
- Educators at institutions that exist for educational purposes for either children or adults

Questions About Getting a Library Card
When you come to the library to get your card, you will need a piece of personal identification and proof of your Saskatoon address. A piece of identification that includes your address (such as a driver’s license) will meet both requirements.
For ID Purposes
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- Nexus card
- Student card
- Military ID
- Government ID card
- Treaty card or Metis card
- Landed immigrant card
- Business/Employer photo ID (preferably with identifying number)
For proof of address:
- Personal cheque
- Driver’s license
- Utility bill or other government correspondence that shows the current address
- Letter/envelope with cancelled postage showing current address
Library cards expire 3 years after they are issued. You will receive a notification 2 weeks in advance. You can contact us by email, phone, in person or using our online chat. Please have your ID and current contact information ready.
