How to Book

Gaming spaces can be used on a drop-in basis, but only when they are not already in use. To ensure a spot, it is recommended to book in advance. Here’s how it works:

  • Visit us in person or give us a call to let us know when you would like to use the room. Rooms can be booked for a maximum of one hour.
  • We will use your library card to book one of the available consoles for an hour.
  • When you arrive at the library for your booking, we will check out controllers on your library card. You will be responsible for returning the controllers once you are finished playing.

Other Guidelines

  • Patrons may only play games rated E or E10+ by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) on in-branch consoles.
  • As per SPL’s Safe Use Conduct Bylaw, children under 10 must be accompanied by a caregiver who is at least 12 years old. For users under 10, the caregiver will be considered the main user of the console, game(s) and controller(s).
  • There is no food or drink allowed in the gaming spaces.
  • If you are more than 15 minutes late for your booking, you may lose your spot.
